CertAccord Enterprise 8.3 Now Available
CertAccord Enterprise 8.3 by Revocent, Inc., now generally available, adds support for SUSE Linux Enterprise, introduces a new File Base Name attribute for Certificate Purposes, and delivers security hardening across the product. This release also updates all third-party frameworks to their current major versions, addressing security and bugfixes. This release is recommended for all new and existing customers.
Security Updates
This release contains various hardening of code against theoretical compromises, all of which are generally unlikely to occur but have been addressed to improve the security posture of CertAccord Enterprise.
Additionally the framework dependencies have all been updated to their latest versions, some of which contain resolutions to their own vulnerabilities which may affect CertAccord Enterprise.
Certificate Purpose File Base Name
Each Certificate Purpose now has a File Base Name attribute. When this value is configured it specifies the base file name used when a certificate is exported. By default the certificate base name is hostname-purpose.ext or commonName-purpose.ext. When this attribute is configured the hostname-purpose portion of the file name is replaced by the File Base Name attribute. This gives administrators direct control over the on-disk names of deployed certificates, which simplifies integration with applications that expect fixed file names.
For consistency, the UI references to Certificate “Name” and Certificate Mandate > “Certificate Name” have been changed to “File Base Name”. See Certificate Purposes in the Administration Guide.
Supported Platform Changes
- SUSE Linux Enterprise support added. This release adds Agent support for SUSE Linux Enterprise 15.6 and later.
- CertAccord Database Server. CertAccord Server now requires Microsoft SQL Server 2017 or later.
- Windows Server 2016 is no longer supported. Windows Server 2019 and later is now the minimum supported Windows Server version for Agent and Server.

- Spring Data from 3.4.8 to 4.0.6
- Hibernate 6.6.24 to 7.3.0
- Jetty 12.0.23 to 12.1.11

Compatibility and Upgrading
The CertAccord Enterprise Server 8.3 is compatible with version 7.x and 8.x Agents. The 8.x Agent is not compatible with the 7.x Server. Always upgrade the CertAccord Server before upgrading any Agents.
Upgrading the CertAccord Server and Agent from 7.0.x, 7.1.x, and 8.0 through 8.2 to 8.3.x is supported. Upgrading from prior releases to 8.x is only supported if you first upgrade to 7.1. As always you must uninstall the previous Agent before installing the new version, using the uninstall method that matches the install method. Performing a default uninstall of the Agent preserves all local state including registration data and certificates.
There are no new licensing changes in this release. Upgrading from a release prior to 8.0 requires a new version 8 license. Customers with licenses issued for v8 prior to the release of v8.2 should contact Technical Support to request updated licenses reflecting the license feature types introduced in 8.2 (EndPoints, Server, SingleAdDomain, and MultipleAdDomains).

CertAccord Enterprise 7.x releases are no longer supported, effective Aug 1, 2025.
CertAccord Enterprise 8.0 is no longer supported, effective Apr 24, 2026.
CertAccord Enterprise 8.1 will no longer be supported Sep 18, 2026.
CertAccord Enterprise 8.2 will no longer be supported Jul 27, 2027.
